Fuzz Club Records is releasing today “Maps And Territory”, the third album by Juju.
The album features collaborations with Neo-psychedelic cult band Goat and with American avant-garde composer Amy Denio.
Only partly rooted in the Psych Nouveau imaginary, it blends in African Poly-rhythms, Kosmische Musik, Mediterranean Folk suggestions and even Ethiopian Jazz in a unique formula, and is written around a very current philosophic concept of political VS psychological borders.
Gioele Valenti, the mind behind Juju, is a very talented musician from Sicily (Italy), who started in 2000 with his first project, Herself, and was produced by Ulan Bator’s front-man and Faust’s guitarist Amaury Cambuzat. He also collaborated and recorded with Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue, who invited him to tour with the band in 2018.
He was one half of Lay Llamas, co-writing and producing their debut Ostro (Rocket Recordings), a small classic of Italian Occult Psych. He then toured with Goat extensively across Europe, both as Lay Llamas and as the guitarist of Josefin Öhrn And The Liberation.
Maps And Territory is the third LP he releases as Juju. They have been with Fuzz Club for the last two years and have made an impression in past editions of Liverpool Psych Fest and Fuzz Club Eindhoven festival, as well as touring Europe.
