Due cd che esplorano la carriera di Jean-Baptiste “Toots” Thielemans, un virtuoso armonicista jazz. Si va dagli anni ’40, tra pezzi inediti e grandi classici, agli anni ’70 e la collaborazioni con i produttori Quincy Jones e Cees Schrama.
In “Dynamite” troviamo Dick Hyman all’organo e Harry Reser al banjo. Con il quintetto di George Shearing troviamo un paio di perle: “Love Is Just Around the Corner” e “Caravan”. Nei due cd inoltre troviamo pezzi incisi con Hank Jones, Doug Watkins, Art Taylor, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Barry Galbraith, McCoy Tyner, JJ Johnson, Richard Davis, Svend Asmussen, Elvin Jones.
Semplicemente strepitosa “Barquinho” con la voce di Elis Regina.
